Pix Jonasson – the Couragepreneur

Meet Pix Jonasson

I am all about healthy living, inside and out. Being born in Ballarat, I am a Victorian regional person by birth and have lived in both Vic and NSW regional areas. But after several family deaths, I realised I wanted to move to the city to have, do, be, and GIVE more.

My two gorgeous young adult children are my priority, followed by family and friends. I love the beach, personal development, and am very community-minded, encouraging as many people as I can to be their best self.

I am a passionate advocate for positive mental health, having lost my 31-year-old nephew to suicide, my sister with a 40 year-long battle with alcoholism (passing at 57), and a former partner attempting suicide.

What business are you currently running?

Courtesy of CoVid where I lost my full-time job, I have now developed my coaching programs based around Courage and Resilience focusing on mindset as I have such vast lived and experiential examples.

I also have 2 online health and wellness businesses.

Assuming you are now in “Your Next Chapter”, what led you here? Was there an internal discontent or an external issue you felt strongly about that prompted a change in direction?

After surviving my third (and hopefully final!) life-threatening car accident, I kick my way out through the driver side window, climbed up the embankment and looked up to the skies and literally asked myself: “Why did I survive this one too?”

It was at that point that I knew I needed to get my story out there to make a positive difference around the globe.

My late Dad instilled “COMMUNICATION” in me and my nephew died by suicide, so I need to “share because I care”, share my life story of overcoming adversity/abuse and tragedy/trauma, share my passions of positive mental health etc.

What did you find most challenging about getting started/moving in a new direction?

Initially, I thought it was financial, but diving down deeper, I realised I didn’t value myself nor feel worthy.

What have you found most fulfilling?

I enjoy the fact that I have the privilege to give other people the opportunity to have, do, be and GIVE more for themselves and for other people who they pay it forward to.
I know that I am creating and leaving a generational legacy.I know that I am contributing by the requests I receive to be a guest speaker, by the testimonials/comments/awards/commendations I receive regularly.I am fulfilled knowing that I am making a positive difference daily in people’s lives.

Have you experienced self-doubt? What causes it to flare and how do you work through it when it hits?

Yes – it’s human nature!

I guess frustration causes it to flare up as I am a fast-paced, energetic person and when results don’t happen as fast as I expect, I experience self-doubt.

To work through this, I meditate, take time out, reset, reach out to mentors.

How do you feel you have grown since you started?

I have grown personally and professionally.

I have completed 2 mental health courses, a podcasting course and established a local community to undertake beach meditation (every Saturday morning at the beach and every day online).

My health and wellness online business has expanded, having had the best sales month recently. In addition to also starting a new one, I have developed my podcast, The Couragepreneur, and established my 7 Day COURAGE Blitz and my 6 Week Coaching Program, 6 Weeks to as COURAGEOUS U.

Have you developed any particular habits/strategies that facilitate getting things done in your business?

Meditation.

Developing my C.O.U.R.A.G.E Muscle, my personal acronym for being courageous and resilient:

C Connect and Communicate
O Open Heart and Open Mind
U Uniquely U
R Real Relationships
A Amazing Attitude
G Grateful and Growing
E Enjoy Life and Energy

Why do you feel women in the 40’s and beyond make fabulous entrepreneurs?

They have lived experience, are heart-centered, willing to learn/be coached.

They want to have, do, be and give more.

What would you say to other women who are standing on the edge of their own Next Chapter, not sure if they can take the leap?

As Nike says, Just Do It

“You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great!”
